Pool Area

  • 68 - Latentest

    Grade: 5a | First Ascent: -1967
    Rating: 0

Climb a thin crack to gain a ledge then finish up the corner above. Poor protection.

  • 69 - Split

    Grade: 5c | First Ascent: -1985
    Rating: 1

Above the left end of the pool is a ledge with a bolt above; climb up to the ledge and finish direct. Harder for the short.

  • 70 - High Tide

    Grade: 5b | First Ascent: -1986
    Rating: 1

A low-level traverse above the pool. Climb Split until hands are on the obvious ledge, then traverse rightwards at this level.

  • 71 - Personality

    Grade: 6a | First Ascent: -1985
    Rating: 2

A route that tests the fingers as well as the brain. Gain the ledge as for Split, then traverse right using bolt holes to make a series of hard and reachy moves up and right to a ledge (well nigh impossible for the short). The headwall is something of a relief. An early failure means an early bath!

  • 72 - Sea Cruise

    Grade: 6a | First Ascent: -1989
    Rating: 0

Follow a line left of Sinking Feeling using carefully placed runners in that route.

  • 73 - Sinking Feeling

    Grade: 5c | First Ascent: -1985
    Rating: 1

Step down to a ledge just above the water and follow the crackline above to a large ledge, then follow the continuation crack to finish.

  • 74 - Split Leg Corner

    Grade: 5a | First Ascent: -1967
    Rating: 0

The obvious corner leads to a large ledge. Either finish direct or via the crack on the left. It is also possible to traverse left and finish over ledges.

  • 75 - Hawkeye

    Grade: 5c | First Ascent: -1985
    Rating: 2

Climb the wall a couple of metres right of Split Leg Corner. Care is needed with protection on this bold and fingery route.

  • 76 - The Noo

    Grade: 5c | First Ascent: -1989
    Rating: 0

Climb up awkward holds left of Hot. Cracks and runners appear. Continue until a traverse left can be made to a ledge. The top is just above.

  • 77 - Hot

    Grade: 5a | First Ascent: -1967
    Rating: 1

The diagonal line leads leftwards to a little groove and a mantel to finish.

  • 78 - Comfortable

    Grade: 5b | First Ascent: -1985
    Rating: 1

The wall right of Hot gives a bold and testing route.

  • 79 - Cold

    Grade: 5b | First Ascent: -1967
    Rating: 0

The next crack to the right gives a bold outing.

  • 80 - Shorty

    Grade: 5a | First Ascent: -1985
    Rating: 0

The wall just to the right again.

  • 81 - Dry Run

    Grade: 5b | First Ascent: -1989
    Rating: 1

Start as for Shorty and gain the obvious traverse line. Step daintily leftwards to gain the large ledge above the pool, then finish up Split Leg Corner`s traverse finish.

  • 82 - Gardener

    Grade: 4b | First Ascent: (1975/1979)
    Rating: 0

Start at the left side, reach a mantel, and thus an easier finish.

  • 83 - Moroccan Roll

    Grade: 6a | First Ascent: -1988
    Rating: 0

Start beneath the overhang and surmount it at its left-hand end with great difficulty, then continue more easily to the top.

  • 84 - It`s Slippy

    Grade: 5a | First Ascent: (1975-79)
    Rating: 0

The groove on the right leads with difficulty over an overhang, then climb directly to the top.

  • 85 - Blinkers

    Grade: 5a | First Ascent: -1988
    Rating: 0

An eliminate between It`s Slippy and Pull Hard gives a pleasant climb.

  • 86 - Pull Hard

    Grade: 4c | First Ascent: (1975-79)
    Rating: 0

Pull strenuously up the wall on the right to gain and follow a little corner.

  • 86a - Wall Finish

    Grade: 4c | First Ascent: -1988
    Rating:

An alternative finish from the first ledge is to climb the wall just right of the little corner.

  • 87 - Combined Ops

    Grade: 5b | First Ascent: -1988
    Rating: 0

Follow Pull Hard to the ledge, then start to traverse left with a tricky move to gain Moroccan Roll and finish up leftwards.

  • 88 - Yes

    Grade: 4c | First Ascent: -1985
    Rating: 0

A slabby arĂȘte leading to a finishing wall.

  • 89 - Maybe

    Grade: 4b | First Ascent: (1975-79)
    Rating: 0

Start on the right of the slab and climb up left to join and finish up Yes.

  • 90 - The Pit Girdle

    Grade: 5a,5a | First Ascent: (1967/1979-83)
    Rating: 0

Start at the left-hand side of the Main Crag.

  • 90.1 - Pitch 1

    Grade: 5a | First Ascent:
    Rating:

Start as for Wall Climb, at half-height follow the line as for Creepy Crab and continue into Layback Crack. Make a worrying hand-traverse to reach Starters, peg belay (not in-situ, so it may be preferable to continue).

  • 90.2 - Pitch 2

    Grade: 5a | First Ascent:
    Rating:

Move delicately down and right on to the slab and follow a line of holds to join Order and Disorder. This line continues farther, past the Cnig`s routes and a jamming crack on their right which provides a finish.
