Grey Wall

  • 131 - Sobeit

    Just round the arête are two thin cracks. Climb the left-hand one to the break then the sentry-box above. Exit via Western Terrace.

  • 132 - Supercrack

    Grade: 5c | First Ascent: (1975-79)

    Follow the right-hand crack to the break, step left and continue up the continuation crack above and finish round to the left. A brilliant and sustained route, that gives consistently high-quality climbing all the way.

  • 133 - Life in the Fast Lane

    From the metal spike on Patience, gain the bad break above and go over the overhangs directly to gain the Terrace. Leave the Terrace slightly rightwards to a loose finish.

  • 134 - In Memoriam

    Climb Patience to the metal spike, and gain the bad break above. Surmount the overhangs rightwards to a thin crack. Climb this and escape right on to Western Terrace.

    Climb to a large metal spike at the left of Grey Wall, then traverse right to a peg belay in a corner/niche.

  • 135.2 - Pitch 2

    Go up to a ledge, then step left on to a ramp and finish straight up.

  • 136 - Impatience

    Start below the centre of the traverse of Patience and climb a slim groove to the traverse. Step right and climb twin cracks to a small overhang at the sandy break, then gain the foot of a ramp, step left and follow a crack to the terrace.

  • 137 - Dracula

    Climb the stepped, overhanging groove below the iron spike on Niche Indirect, and continue past the spike and a peg to a niche and climb the wall on the right to finish at the foot of Vampire.

  • 138 - Niche Indirect

    Climb the short corner four metres to the right of the niche on Patience, then traverse left past the metal spike and finish as Patience.

  • 139 - Western Terrace

    The obvious diagonal break splitting Grey Wall from right to left. Exposed in its upper reaches.

    Climb a short ramp to gain the terrace proper, then traverse easily leftwards and go up the small steps to a grassy bay (peg belay).

    Continue leftwards at the same height, step down, then finish up the right arête of Remembrance Corner, in a fine position.
